UnitedHealthcare of the Midlands, Inc dba UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of (NE) has achieved recognition for meeting significant quality standards from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The plan has earned Health Equity Accreditation and attained the Electronic Clinical Data Distinction. The plan is also the top-rated Health Plan in Nebraska, with an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Health Equity Accreditation recognizes reducing disparities
In December 2022 the NCQA awarded their Health Equity Accreditation to UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Nebraska. The Accreditation recognizes organizations that engage in efforts to improve culturally and linguistically appropriate services and reduce health care disparities. Purchasers, regulators and consumers use the Accreditation to distinguish organizations that meet rigorous standards in serving diverse communities.
Achieving Health Equity Accreditation represents establishing an internal organizational culture that supports the external health equity work the organization does within the community to deliver services that are mindful of individual cultural and linguistic needs. As health care services continue to reduce disparities, the health of entire communities improves and the costs of care are reduced.
Electronic Clinical Data Distinction acknowledges enhanced reporting
In 2022 the NCQA also conferred its Electronic Clinical Data Distinction to UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Nebraska. The Distinction recognizes plans that use the HEDIS1 Electronic Clinical Data Systems (ECDS) reporting standard.
This standard allows for greater assessment of person-specific outcomes, increases real-time results, enhances data sharing across health care systems, and enriches information available to patients, providers and health plans.
Rated highest of all Medicaid HMO plans in Nebraska for 2022
As of March 2023, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Nebraska was rated 4.5 out of 5 overall in NCQA’s Medicaid Health Plan Ratings 2022, achieving the highest rating among Medicaid HMO plans in Nebraska.

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Nebraska is dedicated to continual advancement in quality and outcomes as evidenced by the improvement in score from 2020 to 2022. The Health Plan received a rating of 4 out of 5 stars in 2020, and a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars in 2022 as of March 2023.
