Our vision for child and family services
UnitedHealthcare Community & State has been part of the fabric of North Carolina for more than 37 years. We are national in scope and local in focus. We currently employ 6,000 North Carolinians and are honored to insure more than 1.8 million individuals across the state through Medicaid and other government health care programs.
The State of North Carolina has announced its intent to create the Child Family Specialty Plan, a single, statewide Medicaid managed care plan for children/youth/former foster youth and their families to receive seamless, integrated, coordinated healthcare.
We share the vision outlined by the state to provide a comprehensive network that builds upon local systems of care to provide supports to children, youth, and families involved in foster care. Information regarding the State’s policy paper as well as FAQs including eligibility and services included can be found on the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service's website.
