The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized three COVID-19 vaccines for emergency use. These vaccines were developed to protect people from COVID-19 and currently require either one or two doses.
Several trials from multiple companies are continuing with promising results. It’s also helpful to know that the FDA has a review process for safety and effectiveness that it completes before it will authorize vaccines for emergency use by the general public. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the best resource for the latest information on COVID-19 vaccines.
The CDC has created helpful tools to support community-based organizations in educating the communities they serve. This includes things like key messages, slide decks, posters/flyers, stickers and social media assets.
Using the resources and information provided by the CDC, we have developed a few additional materials for community-based organizations to use in educating the people they serve. This includes:
- A Fact Sheet with information about COVID-19 vaccines
- A list of Frequently Asked Questions
- A customizable Email Template and Instruction Guide to help you communicate with and distribute these resources to your communities
