An all-hands-on-deck approach to redeterminations

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress enacted a provision allowing continuous Medicaid eligibility throughout the public health emergency. Due to recent Congressional action, states resumed Medicaid eligibility determinations and disenrollments as of April 1, 2023.

This webcast features Kate Paris, Vice President of Policy & Advocacy at UnitedHealthcare Community & State, in conversation with Damon Terzaghi, Director of Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Advocacy at the National Association for Homecare and Hospice. They discuss how the Medicaid redetermination process will affect older adults and people living with disabilities and how providers can support them.

Topics include:

  • What criteria states can apply to determine whether older adults and people living with disabilities need to participate in the redetermination process
  • What states are doing to minimize barriers to information and prevent coverage losses among those who remain eligible
  • What in-home providers can do to raise awareness among their clients
